Welcome to Caerleon RFC Petanque Club's official website.
Caerleon RFC Petanque Club was established in 2005, and is affiliated to the Welsh Petanque Association. We have teams playing in both the WPA Welsh League and the local Boules in Gwent (BiG) League - and Club players have represented Wales and Great Britain in major competitions.
We are a competitive but friendly club: old and new players are very welcome to come along for a game. Petanque is a game that can be played by men and women, older people and children on an equal footing - so come to a Friday melee and give it a try. Boules can be borrowed from the club.

See News for a report on the RFC Doubles
DATE CHANGE - please note Club singles is on Sunday 14th September, not Saturday as originally arranged.
HEREFORD
The RFC monopolized camping facilities and the pistes at this year's Hereford Open. See News for details - feel free to submit a report of your own exploits, as Rich has done!
BiG NEWS
LEAGUE: Another mixed week for the RFC - a particular well done to the Greens for their 3-1 win: the second time an RFC team have beaten Abergavenny Blues this year. The A's managed a draw against the red Lion A at home, whilst the Blues had a good draw against the Lion B team on their home turf. Ian of the Blues failed to afnny anyone this week - tut! tut!
CUP/PLATE quarter final news... in the Plate, the Blues are playing PILCS at home, whilst the Greens play ROF B away. In the Cup the A's have drawn Abergavenny Golds away. Good luck all!
BiG LEAGUE TABLES: The RFC is looking good in the Legaue Table - the Blues are 2nd in div 2, just one point behind leaders Ponthir A. The A's are 3rd in Div 1, 2 points behind leaders Abergavenny Blues, and 1 point behind second placed Wheatsheaf A. The Greens are 8th but have time yet to creep up the table.
WPA LEAGUE
The Celts had a good win over Creigau on thursday - Katie was star pointer (though the shame of letting them have that one point will haunt her FOREVER), whislt Alison was star shooter, hitting 4 in a row at one point - go the girls!
In the Grudge Match - the Flys had the upper hand throughout, and the Romans did well to get one win.
In the new League tables, the Flys are currently second in division 2, whilst the Romans are 3rd with a game in hand.
The Celts are sitting 3rd in division 3 with 2 games in hand, so they could easily rocket up the table with a couple of wins.
In the Cup, the Romans enjoyed a good 3-1 win over Euroclad (apparently the first team to win at their terrain) so proceed to the semi-finals where they will play a Panteg team. The Celts have had a bye through to the semi-finals of the Plate. The Flys' Plate match was cancelled.
