Welcome to Caerleon RFC Petanque Club's official website.
Caerleon RFC Petanque Club was established in 2005, and is affiliated to the Welsh Petanque Association. We have teams playing in both the WPA Welsh League and the local Boules in Gwent (BiG) League - and Club players have represented Wales and Great Britain in major competitions.
We are a competitive but friendly club: old and new players are very welcome to come along for a game. Petanque is a game that can be played by men and women, older people and children on an equal footing - so come to a Friday melee and give it a try. Boules can be borrowed from the club.
The club is presently without a Secretary. In the meantime for further information contact webmistress Tansy Mayfield TPMayfield@aol.com Information will be posted on this site as appropriate but Tansy will not take repsonsibility for passing on information to club members by other means.

MELEES
please note that there will be NO MELEE on 26th June or 3rd July due to club functions.
The next melee is 10th July at 7pm - everyone is welcome.
We have been very pleased to welcome some new players and visiting players to the last 3 melees - and particularly pleased to have 3 juniors there last Friday (Callum, Jordan and Morgan), all of whom showed some real skill. We welcome allcomers to the melee and can lend new players boules for the evening.
BiG LEAGUE
The Greens (with fledgling players) suffered a defeat in their away game, as did the Blues at home to Caerleon B despite some very close games in the first round (and some last minute substituions - thanks Kate!). The A's came the closest they have all season to a defeat - managing a draw at home against the Wheatsheaf A team.

WELL DONE TO THE HELMETS
They had a good day in the Top 8 Playoffs - moving up from 8th to 5th position. Excellent work, Rich, Al and Paul.
CAERLEON JUNIOR IN WELSH SQUAD
The Gregorys have been at work again - this time it is Katie who is doing the club proud - she has been selected for the Welsh Junior Squad. Well done, and well deserved Katie.
