Carmarthenshire Stroke Club was started by one of it’s founder members in November 1997 and held it’s first meeting in January 1998.
It’s aims are :
* To recognise the special problems of people with stroke
* To provide a social outlet
* To lend support to Stroke people and their carers
* To be a source of information about Stroke matters
* To always be available with a friendly and helpful response.
Since our Stroke Club started we have tried to support local Stroke people in a variety of ways:
* We have meetings on the first Thursday of every month
* We arrange visits to places of local interest
* We signpost individuals to activities that might be of help to Stroke people
* We put members in contact with other relevant agencies; professional and voluntary
* We have campaigned for additional services for Stroke people
* We produce a quarterly newsletter
